Postcard Pieces
Slide illustrated tiles into the gap and restore each postcard before your move allowance runs out.
How to play
Tap or click a tile beside the gap to slide it in, or swipe it toward the gap. Arrow keys also move the gap one cell per press. Get tiles 1–8 into picture order with the gap at lower right before your moves run out. If moves reach 0 while the picture is still scrambled, the run ends.
Controls
- Tap / Click: slide an adjacent tile into the gap on release
- Swipe / Drag: slide the adjacent tile once when the drag reaches the gap
- Arrow keys: move the gap one cell per non-repeated press
- Space / Enter: start a run or restart from the game-over panel
- P / Escape: pause or resume
Tips
- Check the preview before every move and plan several slides ahead, not just the next tile.
- Work on the upper rows first; the last row's tiles can often be cycled into place afterward.
- Don't protect a nearly complete row blindly — moving a tile aside can open a shorter route for the rest.
- Watch your move counter: later postcards have budgets only a few moves above the optimal distance.
- Each slide that reaches a new best distance earns +10, so favor moves that steadily close the gap.
About Postcard Pieces
Postcard Pieces is a classic 3×3 slide puzzle with an illustrated twist. Each round shows a scrambled postcard: eight numbered picture tiles and one empty cell. Study the solved-picture preview, then slide tiles one at a time to rebuild the picture in order, with the gap back in the lower-right corner.
Every postcard comes with a limited move budget, and each slide spends one move. Solve the picture to earn 100 points plus a bonus for every unused move, and a fresh postcard with a tighter budget appears. Later boards are scrambled deeper, so you'll need to plan tile cycles and know when to temporarily disturb a nearly complete row.
Scrambles are verified reachable, the exact solver distance is shown through your score: every slide that gets closer than any previous position earns +10. Best score is saved locally, and runs restart instantly without reloading.
