How to play

Meet the incoming ball with your player. Drag on your half of the court to move, then release as the ball reaches your racket. Move left or right during the gesture to aim that way. Swipe upward and release for a lob, or use the Lob button. On your service game, hit the falling toss. Points count 15, 30, 40, game; at 40-all the next point wins. First to three games wins the set. Touch the result page to continue or retry.

Controls

  • Touch or mouse: drag to move; release to swing.
  • Move left or right while dragging to aim the return.
  • Swipe upward for a lob, or press Lob. Press Swing for a drive.
  • Keyboard: arrows or WASD to move, Space or Enter to swing, L to lob.
  • P or Escape pauses; the music-note button toggles sound.

Tips

  • Watch the ball and its shadow; the dashed ring marks its predicted bounce.
  • Aim into the open side. Your rival learns to cover repeated angles.
  • A lob buys recovery time and can catch Theo too close to the net.
  • A perfect hit gives 25 points; a good hit gives 10. A winning point gives 100 plus 12 per additional rally hit, and a game gives 200.

About A Sunday Match

Step into a watercolour storybook for singles tennis on three peaceful courts. Drag your player to the ball and release to swing, shaping a left or right angle with your movement. A well-timed sweet spot adds speed and a splash of pigment; an early or late swing loses the point immediately. Play no-ad tennis, first to three games, against Mabel at Willow Common, Ines by the harbour, and Theo at the Hilltop Club. Each set turns to a new illustrated page with a faster, sharper opponent. Choose your starting rival, try a high lob, and build a personal score record.
