Windspire
Climb a whirlwind of floating harbour, rooftops, orchards, storm and ice from the sea to the stars in this 3D jump-and-climb. One slip and you fall.
How to play
Run to the edge, jump, and land on the next piece. Hold jump for a higher jump; let go mid-jump to stop over the next piece. The dark circle under your feet shows where you will land. Turn the camera to see the way up. Ring the bell at the top of each zone: a fall never takes you below the last bell you rang, and at the harbour you land on the sand and climb again.
Controls
- PC: WASD/arrows run, Space or a click jumps (hold Space higher), drag to look, C/Q/E camera, wheel zooms, P pauses
- Phone: the left stick runs, tap the right side or JUMP to jump (hold JUMP higher), drag the right side to look
Tips
- A running start jumps much further than a standing jump.
- Mushrooms, awnings and puffy storm clouds bounce you high.
- Streaks in the air warn of a gust: wait for it to pass on a wide piece.
- Cracked ice holds you for about a second: keep moving.
- Up among the stars you are light: jumps are higher and floatier.
About Windspire
A giant, gentle whirlwind has lifted a whole seaside town and carried its pieces up in a spiral to the stars. Start on the harbour pier and climb it: jump from crates, barrels and fishing boats, up the planks round a stone tower, across rooftops, chimneys and swinging signs, through floating orchards with bouncy mushrooms and rising fruit baskets, into a storm where gusts try to blow you off iron girders, out above the clouds onto slippery ice that cracks under your feet, and finally through low-gravity starfields to the Star Bell at the very top. There are no lives and no timer pressure, only height: every jump is a choice, and a missed one drops you down the spiral to wherever you land, so the climb you lose is real. Ring the wind bell at the top of each of the six zones to keep your progress: a fall can cost you the zone you are on, never more. Your best height, your zone times and your climb are saved on your device.
