How to play

Choose a landmark. Drag a piece up from the tray and let go on the part of the hologram where it belongs; it snaps in if you are right. A wrong place costs one of three hearts. Drag the background or use the turn buttons to see the other side. Tap a piece and then its spot if you prefer, and use a hint when you are stuck.

Controls

  • Touch or mouse: drag a piece from the tray onto the monument
  • Tap a piece, then tap its spot, to place it without dragging
  • Drag the background, the turn buttons or arrow keys: turn the view; pinch or wheel: zoom
  • H: hint; P or Escape: pause; M: sound

Tips

  • Big base pieces are easiest to start with.
  • Turn the view: some gaps are only visible from behind.
  • Wrong drops cost hearts, but letting go over the tray is free.
  • Placing pieces in a row without a miss builds a combo of up to x5.
  • Finish without a miss or a hint for three stars.

About Monument Mender

Monument Mender is a 3D puzzle game about the world's most famous statues and buildings. Pick a landmark from the gallery: the Moai of Rapa Nui, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower, Rodin's The Thinker, the Statue of Liberty, the Great Sphinx of Giza, Big Ben or the Taj Mahal. Each one has broken into pieces and a blue hologram shows what is missing. Drag a piece from the tray and let go where it belongs: it snaps into place and the seam glows gold, like kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending with gold. Turn the view to find gaps on the far side. A piece let go in the wrong place costs a heart, and after three misses the monument crumbles, so look closely before you drop. Later landmarks have more pieces, hide the cut lines on the hologram and send pieces tumbling into the tray. Finish a landmark to get a postcard with a fun fact, stars and your best score, then travel on to the next.
